What is Conflict Resolution?
Conflict 101
What is Conflict?
You have an emotional problem with a person or people (your goals collide, your identities clash, or one of you hurt the other). You're in a conflict!
Good news! Conflict is a great opportunity to learn, understand the situation and your counterpart, and get better at conflict resolution.

Conflicts ARE Emotional
All conflicts are emotional. People have emotions, so sooner or later you're going to have a conflict. If you understand your emotions, resolving your conflict will be easier and less stressful.
You have BLUE emotions when you're resolving a conflict. BLUE emotions mean you're making progress, getting closer to an agreement, so be persistent... You're getting there.
You feel GREEN emotions once you make an agreement. GREEN emotions are one last chance to check-in with yourself to see how you feel about everything. Good job, you did it!
You're in a conflict... it matters, it's unpleasant, and it's challenging! You feel RED. RED emotions tell you things aren't OK and you need to protect yourself.
Different emotions arise at different times. If you're paying attention to them, they tell you what's going on and what to do about it.
Types of Emotions
When conflict first strikes, you feel YELLOW. YELLOW emotions tell you something unusual happened and you might need to act.
